🐾 What’s the Difference Between Owners, Walkers, Sitters, and Vendors?
Sniffdom is built to reflect real life: not everyone who plays owns a dog, and not everyone who cares for a dog is the owner. Here’s how the different roles work inside the app:
🐕 Dog Owners (Team Dogs)
- The main account holder for a dog
- Can mark territory, name spots, earn Bones, and upgrade their Digital Dog House
- Approves walkers and sitters to access their dog’s profile
- Controls QR tag permissions
🚶 Dog Walkers
- Walk multiple dogs, even from different owners
- Log walks, leave marks, and earn Bones for the dogs they walk
- Can earn bonus Bones for multi-dog walks
- Can appear on leaderboards for walkers (most miles, most dogs walked)
- Access dog profiles via QR with owner permission
🏡 Dog Sitters
- Temporarily care for a dog while the owner is away
- Access dog’s profile, meds, vet info, and walk logs
- Leave marks and contribute to the dog’s territory
- Access granted via QR code or app invite
- Notifications keep owners informed of activity
🏪 Vendors (Businesses)
- Groomers, pet stores, walkers, sitters, vets, and other dog-friendly services
- Appear on the Sniffdom map as Safe & Fun Zones
- Offer discounts or perks in exchange for Bones
- Build visibility through events, challenges, and promotions
- Not part of Team Dogs or Team Cats—vendors are their own category
🛑 Why These Roles Matter:
Sniffdom is more than a game—it’s a living network of pets, people, and businesses. These roles keep everything organized, connected, and rewarding for everyone involved.
